Tumbldown Announces New Album Empty Bottle And Tour

Friday, September 17, 2010 - 3:02:40 PM

Tumbledown announces new album and tour...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TUMBLEDOWN TO RELEASE “EMPTY BOTTLE” ON OCTOBER 26

NEW TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED,

FIRST SINGLE “ARRESTED IN EL PASO BLUES”

Los Angeles, CA, September 17, 2010 – Bremerton, WA’s TUMBLEDOWN wants to knock one back with their fans and celebrate the release of their new album, Empty Bottle via End Sounds on October 26. The rock & roll sounds of frontman Mike Herrera (MxPx, Arthur) and the band have never been more electric, and rightly so, Empty Bottle is a perfect display of that energy.

Beginning today, fans can pre-order the new album Empty Bottle, produced by Mike Herrera, through Shockhound.com for a special low price. A limited edition LP version of Empty Bottle, also available on October 26 and features the same track listing but varied artwork, will be exclusively available through the label’s site www.endsounds.com, the band’s website www.tumbledownhq.com, and from the band at shows.  Only 500 copies of the LP will be available with 100 pressed in special white vinyl.  Each purchase of the vinyl album will come with a digital download of the entire album as well.

After a relentless 2009 in which the band released their self-titled debut and a live album entitled, Live In Tulsa, in addition to touring in support of both, TUMBLEDOWN was ready to get back into the studio to start work on Empty Bottle.

The music of Tumbledown takes that sepia-tinged image of Americana and sends it hurtling into the present, with the help of some punk-inflected riffs and pure rock & roll attitude.  All of the album’s songs written on the road, the characters in Herrera’s songs drink to forget; they ask for a reason to stay in town without really expecting to get one; they look at the madness around them and wonder whether it’s them or the rest of the world that’s gone crazy.

“I want to paint those colors that they've been missing but never knew were missing until they heard them on this new record and now life is never the same after that,” Herrera explains.  “We have a good time each time we perform and we want our fans to have the same reaction while listening.”

On Empty Bottle’s first single, “Arrested in El Paso Blues”, Herrera accompanied by Jack Parker on guitar and brothers Marshall and Harley Trotland on standup bass and drums, respectively, sings about country and roots music staples – drinking, fighting, gambling, ladies of the night and brushes with the law. From the full-frontal cowpunk attack of the opening cut, “Places In This Town,” where the narrator braves harm to body and soul but still finds strength to forge ahead, to closing track “Not Hung Over,” a classic morning-after-madness tale of a dizzy-headed drinking man’s denial, Empty Bottle offers an image of Americana that’s as true, tragic, tumultuous, and tantalizing.

In celebration, the band will embark on a month long tour, kicking off in their hometown of Bremerton, WA with a Halloween-themed CD release party at Winterland. The tour will continue through the last week of November.  More special promotions and International release dates are to be announced within the coming weeks.

Tumbledown announces a new tour for Spring 2010.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MIKE HERRERA’S TUMBLEDOWN ANNOUNCE

TOUR DATES FOR NORTH BY SOUTHWEST TOUR

SELF-TITLED ALBUM AVAILABLE NATIONWIDE THROUGH END SOUNDS

Country Standard Time Declared Album #10 In Their Top 30 ‘Best of 2009’ List

Los Angeles, CA, January 27, 2010 – In an era of cookie-cutter, made for radio, musical

acts, the raw talent and energy behind MIKE HERRERA’S TUMBLEDOWN’s multi-genre

appeal has fans scrambling for access to more live shows. Now, their collective plea has been

answered and a new tour is scheduled to cover the Pacific Coast and outward into the Southwest.

The month of March will feel as wild as a Texas tornado with a packed series of 19 show dates,

aptly named the North by Southwest Tour. TUMBLEDOWN fans can also look forward to their

favorite punk-a-billy band making an appearance at the annual SXSW Music Festival this year.

Under the creative influence of many of the great American songwriters and countless classic

punk rock shows, forged out of personal heartbreak and reflection, MIKE HERRERA’S

TUMBLEDOWN was born. Following the release of their self-titled debut album, through End

Sounds, and the praise for the hit single “Butcher of San Antone”, Mike Herrera and company

now face the open road yet again. They will be kicking off their new tour on Friday, March 5 in

Yakima, WA, winding it all up back in Seattle, WA on Friday, March 31.

While the world-traveling Bremerton, WA musician Mike Herrera may be most well-known as

the dynamic bassist and lead singer of the Left Coast three-piece punk band MxPx, beneath all

the tattoos and piercings, the ranting and stage wrecking, Herrera has long been an acousticwielding

songsmith. MIKE HERRERA’S TUMBLEDOWN captures the punk rock energy of

MxPx, while also displaying the soulful experiences of Herrera’s travels along the lonely, open

road, coining their own unique pop-punk-a-billy sound.

MIKE HERRERA’S TUMBLEDOWN consists of Herrera as songwriter/lead vocals/guitar,

lead guitarist Jack Parker, standup bassist Marshall Trotland, and drummer Harley Trotland.

"Butch of San Antone" Music Video Premiere

Wednesday, August 26, 2009 - 5:21:01 AM

New music video for "Butcher of San Antone" from Mike Herrera's Tumbledown. This is the first music video from their debut album Tumbledown.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MIKE HERRERA’S TUMBLEDOWN ANNOUNCES VIDEO PREMIERE OF “BUTCHER OF SAN ANTONE”
ON SHOCKHOUND.COM

Los Angeles, CA, August 26, 2009 -- MIKE HERRERA’S TUMBLEDOWN have partnered with
HOT TOPIC’S SHOCKHOUND internet site to premiere the new video for their single,
“Butcher of San Antone”. The video will debut today starting at 9am PST/ 12pm EST at: http://www.shockhound.com/videos/687-mike-herrera-s-tumbledown-butcher-of-san-antone.  The track is the second single off the bands self-titled debut album, released through End Sounds earlier this year.

Mike Herrera is best known as the front-man of MxPx, but has been writing country music since 1998, and claims some of the industry greats as his influences; songwriting legends as Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, and Bill Monroe.  MIKE HERRERA’S TUMBLEDOWN captures the punk rock energy of MxPx, while also displaying the soulful experiences of Herrera’s travels along the lonely, open road, coining their own unique pop-punk-a-billy sound.

Sticking to their DIY roots, the band teamed up with Dallas-based video director, Joe the Visualist to create their interpretation of a classic comic book from the 60's (Eerie Comics).  Herrera illustrates the song as “the story of a vigilante priest out for revenge. It's a comic book, pulp-style story and is definitely set apart from our other songs. It's seedy and sleezy, just the way I like it.  I think anyone can get into a story of murder and revenge. Don't you?”

Dark and gritty, a step away from your more traditional summer anthems, “Butcher of San Antone” does have its lighter moments with guest vocals from Nicole Pike of the Wreckin’ Machine.

MIKE HERRERA’S TUMBLEDOWN out of Bremerton, WA consists of Herrera as songwriter/lead vocals/guitar, lead guitarist Jack Parker, standup bassist Marshall Trotland, and drummer Harley Trotland.

SHOCKHOUND is an explosion of music culture, filled with millions of MP3s, a massive selection of band merch, exclusive interviews and videos of your favorite bands, and a community of fellow music addicts who crave new sounds just like you do.

MIKE HERRERA’S TUMBLEDOWN will be kicking off their new co-headling tour with Jon Nolan of Starylight Run.  For a complete tour itinerary, check out: www.endsounds.com and www.tumbledownhq.com.
